Norwegian Football Hits 1 Million Fans – Before the Halfway Mark

This weekend, Norwegian football reached a new milestone: 1 million tickets sold across the Eliteserien and OBOS-ligaen, and we’re not even halfway through the season.
That’s no small feat.
As Norsk Toppfotball (the Professional Norwegian Football League) reports, the Eliteserien (tier 1) has already welcomed 764,309 fans, with the OBOS-ligaen (tier 2) contributing 241,748. Combined, that’s over 1 million attendees and counting — a powerful testament to the growing passion for Norwegian football.
And here at TicketCo, we’ve had the privilege of seeing that growth up close.
We’ve been the league’s digital ticketing partner for the past 5.5 years, and during that time we’ve witnessed how the clubs and league have transformed Norwegian football, not just on the pitch, but also in how they connect with supporters. The product is better, the experience is better, and clearly, the fans are showing up.
Strong Numbers, Strong Stories
Brann tops the attendance table with over 236,000 spectators, followed closely by Rosenborg and Viking. Meanwhile, Fredrikstad are packing in over 10,000 per match, and Vålerenga have increased their attendance by more than 56% compared to last year.
It’s not just about numbers. It’s about atmosphere, community, and the shared experience of live football — and Norwegian clubs are delivering on all three.
Credit Where It’s Due
We want to applaud Norsk Toppfotball and every club in the league for the impressive work that’s gone into creating this success. From strategic fan engagement to stadium experience improvements, the results are real, and they’re resonating in the stands.
It’s a pleasure to support this growth and provide the infrastructure that helps make it scalable.
We’re proud to be part of the journey.
